"Beautifully choreographed and flawlessly arranged, the trip was an experience I shall never forget. All thanks to your expertise. I can't say enough for the choice of theater shows, restaurants and personal tours. The only thing you couldn't control were the brief showers, but even they did nothing to dampen our spirits. The people in the party were a joy to be with and the size of the group made it all the more personal."

"I know that I will be reliving this trip for a long time."

"Many thanks for the great theater tour of New York. We had a delightful time with a great bunch of people."

Wednesday, July 16th: Musical Theater Heritage will arrange our early morning, Midwest Airlines non-stop flight to LaGuardia Airport in New York City. When we arrive we will be provided with our very own private transportation to the historic, and extremely charming Algonquin Hotel on West 44th Street in mid-town Manhattan. Here, we’ll be steeped in the history of the American theater, New York City and the writers of the Algonquin Round Table. The hotel is within walking distance to Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, Empire State Building and Fifth Avenue shopping.

After check-in, the afternoon is free to explore Times Square, have lunch at the Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station, or just relax in the inviting Algonquin lobby and feel the great vibrations of New York’s past. Tonight we will meet in the lobby and walk together to Rockefeller Center for dinner with wine at the RAINBOW ROOM. You won’t believe the view of the New York skyline from our table on the 65th floor!

Thursday, July 17th: This morning we will board a private coach with MTH’s Chad Gerlt and radio host George Harter as our guides for a New York City sights & history tour. Highlights include: Central Park, Lincoln Center, Greenwich Village, The Bowery, Brooklyn Bridge, Broadway & 42nd Street, Wall Street, Battery Park and much more. We will make several stops during our trip for a closer look at key points in Manhattan, including the site of the World Trade Center.

The tour will conclude with lunch in a private room at SARDI’S, the famous theatre fixture on Rodgers and Hammerstein Row. Choose between a delicious New York steak or fresh Atlantic seafood. We’ll have a pianist and two special Broadway guests stop by for a visit to regale us with some Broadway stories and sing a few songs. The remainder of the afternoon is free.

Tonight we have prime seats for a performance of JERSEY BOYS, winner of 5 Tony Awards. This popular show is the story of the legendary Four Seasons, and is one of the hottest and most difficult tickets to come by in NY. After the show you are free to explore the nightlife of Times Square or return to the hotel. There’s nothing in New York like the Algonquin lobby for getting together after theatre and doing some celebrity-watching.

Friday, July 18th: The entire day is free for you enjoy New York as you please. OPTIONAL: Chad Gerlt and Liz Enea will be leading a Greenwich Village walking tour. Highlights will include Washington Square Park, the campus of NYU and a walk through the area once frequented by Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul & Mary and the folk movement of the 1960’s. We’ll stop along the way for a bite to eat, perhaps in Washington Square where we can enjoy the park and the bohemian atmosphere. Subway fare and lunch are at your own expense.

Tonight you’re on your own. Perhaps you’d like to enjoy a cabaret show at the Algonquin’s world-famous Oak Room, or experience the jazz scene at Birdland. How about a Broadway show? Chad will be happy to help you make plans or arrange tickets for you.

Saturday, July 19th: This afternoon we have prime seats to a matinee per-formance of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, the hilarious new Mel Brooks musical, starring Tony Award Winners Roger Bart, Sutton Foster, and Andrea Martin. Also starring Megan Mullally who played the very funny, Karen Walker on Will & Grace. Already an audience favorite, this production will surely make a great showing at the Tonys this year!

Tonight we will celebrate our time together with dinner & cocktails aboard the WORLD YACHT. With a two-level dining room, spacious outdoor sundeck, music, dancing, and dazzling views of the most famous skyline in the world, the evening will be a night to remember. Private transportation will take us back to the Algonquin.

Sunday, July 20th: Spend a quiet, leisurly Sunday morning in NY; or perhaps you could attend mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. We’ll check out of the hotel by noon and make a couple of stops on our way to the airport. First we’ll stop by Zabar’s, the famous NY deli landmark at 80th & Broadway. Blend with native New Yorkers and experience the banter of the sales help as you take your number for a pound of pastrami and a bag of bagels.

Then we’ll stop by the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. It is the largest cathedral in the world, and is greater than two football fields in length (601 feet). Afterwards we’ll be off to LaGuardia in plenty of time for our 5:05 PM Midwest Airlines non-stop flight home to Kansas City.
